Heed the Hollerings of Your Heart

"When you remember that you’re riding on a ball in infinite space with a humongous star of molten fire exploding over your head and that simply being alive is a near-death experience, the concept of playing it safe suddenly seems as ridiculous as it is.

Heed the hollerings of your heart, grab hold the horns of uncertainty, and steer the snorting beast in the direction of your wildest dreams."

Bernina Express [Visiting Switzerland and Italy]

Greetings all!

A friend recently told me about the spectacular ride on the Bernina Express that runs from Switzerland to Italy. I have not yet been myself but now really want to go!!

From glaciers to palms, you rise to 7,392 feet (2,253 meters) above sea level while enjoying 55 tunnels and 196 bridges & viaducts. What amazing postcard-worthy views!

An Ode to a Post-It

Greetings all!

If you glance at your desk, do you happen to see a Post-It? I love using those colorful sticky notes!

Paula Rizzo shares these interesting facts about the Post-It in her book “Listful Thinking”:
  1. The tiny reminders were actually created in 1968 by accident! (Nope, Romy & Michelle didn’t invent them after all).
  2. Spencer Silver, a 3M scientist, created the reusable adhesive while trying to make a super strong one.
  3. 3M developer, Arthur Fry, used the adhesive on his bookmark inside his song book at church. He eventually started using them at work.
  4. The original canary yellow color was also an accident. It just so happened to be the color of the scrap paper the scientist used to test his adhesive.
  5. The very first Post-It note hit stores in 1980.
  6. Canary yellow notes remain the biggest seller even though there are a variety of colors available.
